Country Living Fair!

The countdown is on!  In just two weeks we will be heading to the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY and we are excited beyond words!  Country Living Magazine has been a staple for inspiration and ideas in our household for years and this is our first time being a part of their amazing network of creativity.  Until then we will be very busy bees in the studio creating tons of brand new goodies for this event.

There will be so much to see and shop for, at our booth and beyond!
We'd love love love to see you there!

Olive Photo Shoot!

Is this not the cutest face you've ever seen?!  I mean sure, I'm her mom...but come on!  I melt everyday!  Ben took these adorable photos for Mother's Day...Olive is 4.5 months old...sigh...I feel like she's always been here, yet can't believe how big she's getting!!  A feeling echoed by parent's all over the world and across time.  :)

Olive in the Studio...

Oh how I love being a mom!  Olive spends much of her waking hours up with Ben and I in the studio.  Sometimes she's on my lap, other times she's playing in her crazy colored jungle gym thingy or on the floor.  Or sometimes she "helps" mama!

I've learned to work up high...out of the reaching arms of baby.  She loves to see everything I do.

Sometimes she manages to snag something...and apparently doesn't mind the feel of cotton on her tongue...ew.

And sometimes she just smiles and sits there while letting an elephant walk down her head.   Ok ok...sometimes she cries too...but luckily she's a very good girl most of the time!  :)

Babies are the best!

Studio is almost done!

The studio has been all but completely finished for a little while now.  The ceiling in the bathroom area just needs a little more work, which hopefully will be done soon and then we can give you the grand tour...very exciting!  But for now, I'll show you some progress photo of the main work area.

This is the before shot.  I painted the base of the mural three years ago when we first moved in and have been working under this unfinished sky all this time.

But now it's complete!  It's a simple mural really...just clouds and a night sky.  Plus I took back the chandelier that had been hanging in my parent's basement since I was in college (I had a bedroom down there during the summers I was home from school).

Thankfully my dad has a long ladder he let me borrow.  The ceiling is probably almost 20 feet tall at the highest point!

Sophie had a blast running up the ladder.  Although I can see how cats get stuck in trees now.  Getting up took three seconds.  Getting down...well, some meowing and some help from mommy was required, lol.

And Ben lifted the very last of the old floor to expose the pine planks underneath.  Yay!!  Although the guy who helped bring up our extremely heavy cast iron sink asked if we were going to put new floors down.  I said...these are the new floors!!  Haha...no new floor would ever work as well in our working studio than these old rough pine planks.

Yay!!!
