Day 8 of Twelve Days of Christmas

My most treasured possession is once again displayed in all it's glory. This turn of the last century German feather tree is fully decked out in all of it's antique ornaments, plus a few new ones found this year!

A heard of vintage reindeer, plus Santa in his sleigh go rushing by...

While all of the characters up above look down and smile as I do when looking at them. :)

Ahhhh...the wonders of old world Germany...

Day 7 of Twelve Days of Christmas

One simple (and kinda blurry) photo displays the excitement of decorating for Christmas. Granted I'm three weeks later than I wanted to be, but it's never too late. Plus the old German tradition is to put your fresh tree up on Christmas Eve and light every branch with a tiny candle. Sigh...the days when things seemed more simple and tradition was everything....

Day 6 of Twelve Days of Christmas

Cat got your tree? Sophie and Paige were bad kitties yesterday when I first got the tree set up. They immediately thought it was their own special new toy and were bolting up and down it! I was a little unsure of what to do. Do I let them get it out of their system? Do I nip it in the bud? I did a little of both and then tied the tree to the window so they couldn't knock it down and didn't put any of my delicate glass ornaments up (sniff sniff, it will make it that much more special next year I suppose). They've been pretty good so far, as yesterday I was diligently reprimanding them. Plus a little cat nip on their scratching post as a distraction never hurt. I'll show you photos of the tree and the rest of my decorations soon! And since this post should have gone up yesterday, stay tuned for Day 7 of my Christmas countdown! Until then, the kitties are watching their very first snow fall! :)

Day 5 of Twelve Days of Christmas

I've been waiting a while to show you this fabulous creation that I just couldn't resist, made by Beth of Beth's Bagz! A one of a kind festive pin cushion topped with a vintage snowman along with all sorts of fun doodads. The pin cushion is quite large and will hold tons of pins. I will certainly be using it next year during the holidays...I can't wait to see how it will liven up my studio!!

This one's mine...but if you'd like one too, check out Beth's Etsy shop and Bayberry Cove.

Thank you so much Beth!! :)

Day 3 of Twelve Days of Christmas

Guess who made this snowman and her adorable little kid? My mom and me!! She sent me a whole bunch of naked snowman bodies a little while ago and while I didn't get the chance to dress them all up yet, I did manage to get these guys all sparkled up. Aren't they adorable! They're made of wool and of course other vintage accoutrement. :) This January I plan to complete the rest and offer them for sale here. Keep your out eye!

Until then however, tomorrow morning I'll be doing my very last Christmas update until the next Christmas season! I've still been working hard this week to provide a few last minute goodies for your wish list and for your tree. I'll have snowmen and Christmas girls and Santa's and even Christmas owls! I can't wait to show you! Meet me back here, tomorrow - Friday Dec. 17th at around 11 am EST. :)

Day 2 of Twelve Days of Christmas

Aren't these goodies just delicious?! These photos were taken and the collages were made more than a year ago and I never posted them! But their time has come... These tiny chenille Santas, Patriotic stars, reindeer, reflectors and tiny brush wreath cupcake picks were all picked up at the Silver Bella Vendor Night 2009. You may recognize some of the goodies from Christmas characters made this year!

More goodies found at Silver Bella...some I can bring myself to use (yet), like the honeycomb trees complete in their original package. Why Pat Murphy wanted to give them up I'll never know! :)
